Suspects arrested after US shooting leaves three dead

On Tuesday evening, calls came in about a shooting at a town house complex, about 105km southwest of Washington, said Major Elizabeth Scott, spokeswoman for the Spotsylvania Sheriff's Office.

Officials had urged people to avoid the area and those near the scene to stay indoors while authorities investigate. Area schools delayed openings by two hours on Wednesday.

The people injured in the area of Olde Greenwich Circle were taken to hospitals. Their condition is unknown.

All of the shooting victims were found outside, according to Scott.
