Blue-green algae warning removed for Lake Eildon

The blue-green algae warning for Lake Eildon has been cancelled.

Goulburn-Murray Water has removed the blue-green algae warning for Lake Eildon following a significant decline in algae levels.

G-MW announced the blue-green algae warning for Lake Eildon on April 21. It remained in place for 88 days.

G-MW will continue to undertake water quality monitoring and if blue‑green algae reach levels deemed unsafe by national health guidelines, a warning will be issued.

The removal of this warning — along with the ones at Newlyn Reservoir and Hepburn Lagoon, both between Daylesford and Ballarat — means there are currently no blue-green algae warnings in place at any G-MW storages.

To keep up to date with current blue-green algae warnings phone 1800 013 357 and select the BGA information option, or visit the Blue-Green Algae page on the G-MW website at: www.g-water.com.au/news/bga

Customers are reminded water supplied by G-MW is not suitable for human consumption without first being properly treated.
