PLAYER CHANGES
Ins: None
Outs: Izac Artavilla, Adam DeCicco, Tyron Baden, Lewis McShane (Shepparton), Darcy Pridham-McCormack (Strathmerton)
Cobram was a powerhouse of the Murray Football League in 2022, but it looks like the Tigers’ time as one of the competition’s premier outfits might be short-lived.
Cobram has lost a number of key pieces from last season’s squad that dominated its way to the minor premiership and on to the grand final; departures that could see it fall back to the pack.
Last year’s best-and-fairest winner and leading goal-kicker Tyron Baden is off to the Shepparton, along with Izac Artavilla, Adam DeCicco and Lewis McShane.
Darcy Pridham-McCormack has gone too, having departed for Strathmerton in the PDL.
“They will be heavy losses. You take them out of any side and they would be heavy. It’s not easy to replace them either,” coach John Brunskill said.
“Last year we didn’t picture finishing on top, we just wanted to make finals and that’s what we are hoping, to make finals and see what happens.”
Brunskill said Harry Beasley, Sam Beasley, Matteo Allen, Hugh Hyde and Lachlan Hyde were youngsters he was keen to see in action in 2023.
