The Kyabram Racing Pigeon Club season continues to soar, with the eighth round of racing held on Sunday.
The Hillston 1 race was held over from the previous weekend after bad weather caused the original August 31 event to be cancelled.
A total of 112 birds representing nine trainers were released south of Hillston making the about 300km journey back to owners lofts.
Kyabram’s Peter White took out the event, his birds completing the distance at an average velocity of 1167.24 metres per minute.
Fellow Kyabram locals Gary Rayner (1155.55) and Phillip King (1153.53) grabbed the remaining podium spots.
Lancaster’s Joe Cammarata (1138.40) and Jim Arthur (1124.16) were next best, while Echuca’s Rod Clarke (1122.29) and Moama’s M and P Racing (1078.40) rounded out the top seven.
The result sees White move up to third on the overall season point score, led by King from Rayner.
