Rasmussen’s third three-wicket haul of the season, just three matches old after a delayed start due to wet weather, allowed his team to restrict Moama to 9-146 from 39.5 overs on Friday.
He removed the dangerous Rhys Drennan for just seven runs and followed that up with wickets in the third last and final over of the Moama innings.
Rasmussen took 3-11 from five overs in round one against Bamawn Lockington United, then 1-2 from four overs against Tongala and completed his trifecta of outstanding results with 3-23 from eight overs in the Moama match.
Moama started strongly, 62 without loss in the 20th over when Brock Keenan finally broke through for Rochester.
Rasmussen removed Drennan in the 25th over with 91 on the board, the second wicket to fall, before Ben Bloomfield claimed wickets with the first and final delivery of his fifth over.
Bloomfield finished with figures of 2-7 from five overs, supported by Aidan Roulston and Liam Edge, with one wicket each.
• Kade Pearse has continued his dominant start to the 2022-23 season with a second half century, in BLU’s 7-157 total against Echua.
Pearse now has scores of 31 not out, 56 not out and 50 (retired) from the opening three rounds of the season.
The opening batsman combined with Broden Wishart to put 101 on the board before BLU lost its first wicket. Wishart scored 30, but his dismissal signalled a mini-collapse and BLU was 4-129 soon after.
Lucas Holgate struck three boundaries in his 17, but none of the remaining BLU batsman managed double figures as the 150-plus total came from the allocated 40 overs.
Pearse’s second half century of the season came from 65 deliveries and included four boundaries.
Echuca came into the match unbeaten and leading the competition.
• Cooma scored 7-128 against Tongala in their match, on the back of an unbeaten half century from Hayden Fawcett.
Echuca South will play Kyabram FIre Brigade in the other match in a one-day format this Friday.
