Katamatite senior women hosted Rochester in round 13 of Goulburn Murray Cricket action on Sunday, February 2.
In what proved to be a tough day out for the hosts, Alexis Iddles top-scored for Katamatite with nine from 10 at the top of the Tigers’ batting order.
Little could halt the pain as wicket after wicket fell for the Tigers, who were all out for 32 in the 14th over.
Rochester picked up the willow and soon proved too strong for the embattled hosts, steaming to an eight-wicket win in 9.2 overs.
Perhaps the only consolation for the home side was a reprieve from the relentless temperatures edging towards the 40-degree mark as heatwave conditions set in.
Katamatite faces a challenge this weekend in the form of a 35-over match against first-placed Mooroopna at home.
