For the second time in as many years, Rushworth claimed the D-grade shield, this time flexing all its might to get the job done in a timely fashion.

Playing at Moama Recreation Reserve on Brick Alley, Stanhope won the toss and elected to bat in the Goulrbun Murray Cricket grand final.
The Lions found themselves in trouble early, with opener Ollie Stewart (0) being run out in the third over and Jayke Fisher (2) was caught in the seventh.
This left Stanhope at 2-3, and the lows continued as Thomas Hepburn (1), Lachlan West (1) and Brendan Bauman (2) all departed in consecutive overs.
Cooper Fisher (0) managed to stave off four deliveries before he caught out, this time by Bradie Chillingsworth off Heath Ogden’s bowling.
Adam Braithwaite provided the most assistance to first drop Kian Verrall, who had partners falling around him.
Braithwaite got through 23 deliveries for his four runs before he too was back in the sheds with Lachlan Joyce (0) following 10 balls later.
Peter Raglus finished nine not out in Rushworth’s shield-winning run chase.

Harrison Shagdett’s four off nine balls was welcome, but he was unable to hang around, lasting just nine deliveries before a mix-up between the wickets meant number 11 batter Alyssa Braithwaite was out for a golden duck.
Stanhope managed just 44 from 28 overs.
Verrall’s 25 not out off 82 deliveries, which included two fours and a six, the only bright spot for the Lions.
With little to do, Brett Pateman and Peter Raglus, for which the D-grade shield is named after, started off strongly.
The pair got within a single run of victory when Pateman (20) was caught by the fast hands of Thomas Hepburn off Lennon Hall.
Bradie Chillingsworth then hit two runs from his six balls to ice the game for Rushworth with Raglus finishing unbeaten on nine.
Ultimately, it was pure domination from Rushworth — a side that continues to be the top dog in the D-grade competition.
The Game
Stanhope 44 (Kian Verrall 25 not out, Adam Braithwaite 4, Declan Baldwin 3-18) lost to Rushworth 1-45 (Brett Pateman 20, Peter Raglus 9 not out, Lennon Hall 1-5)
