The club’s website, which is where your game of golf is now booked, also includes plenty of additional information on your membership and handicap; even a weather map so you know what to expect on the course.
Work continues around the course and in the clubhouse. The sixth green is in play and further cart paths are being constructed, while inside the clubhouse the new poker machine room should be ready in a matter of weeks.
On course, last Thursday the ladies played stableford and the A grade winner was Pauline Davis with 34 points on countback to Jen Choice, and in B grade Esther Bolton had 36 from Glenda Campbell 34.
Saturday was a single stableford in which Graeme ‘Wrecka’ Willoughby shot a one under par round to accumulate 40 points and win A grade, from George Willis on 40. In B grade Tony Kew had 38 points to win by a shot to Dan Wade, and in C grade Ross Burnham had 38 to win on countback to Ian Campbell.
On Wednesday the conditions were a bit breezy, but the course was in top condition after a drop of rain. A grade winner was Chris Thomson who scored 39 points, two clear of Brian Jennings on 37. In B grade Jeremy McMahon had 41 points, from runner-up Jeffrey ‘Dick’ Grant on 38.
Coming up we have the Deni Freighters Monthly Medal tomorrow, Mixed Summer Pennant on Sunday, ladies 9 holes on Tuesday, men’s stableford on Wednesday and the ladies will play stableford next Thursday.
The following weekend is the Autumn Classic, sponsored by Purtills and Wired Entertainment, entries for which are available at the Pro Shop or online.
As usual it will be a fourball best ball stableford with 18 hole events on Saturday and Sunday, plus the major 36 hole event. So get your partner organised and fill out an entry form, as this is always a popular event with big fields on both days.
Also just around the corner are the club championships, which have had a change of date. They will be held over three rounds on Saturdays March 26, April 2 and April 9.
Don’t forget Friday Night Fun at the club tonight. Raffle tickets are on sale from 6pm with draws at 7.30pm. Excellent meals are available, with bookings preferred. If you want a lift, call the club and order the courtesy bus.
