Project co-ordinator Lauren Fawcett said Sports Focus was starting the research project to give sports club members the option to have a voice.
The research is being conducted by Sports Focus, Leisure Networks and La Trobe University.
“We are contacting sporting clubs and associations within the Loddon Campaspe region,” Ms Fawcett said.
“This research is being done to learn more about our sporting communities and what work is currently being done across our sports clubs and associations in relation to prevention of and response to gender abuse.”
Ms Fawcett said the reason Sports Focus wanted to know more about its sporting communities and what they were doing was to allow them to work to co-design appropriate initiatives and resources.
“Taking part in this research project is optional for all members. We are looking for people who want to take part in a survey, who are current members of your organisation and over the age of 16 years,” she said.
Members who are interested in taking part in the survey can click on the link below, which will take them through to the online survey introduction page for more details.
“This also includes a participant information form that members can view online and download. If they decide to take part in the survey, they can click on the button ‘Start Survey’,” she said.
