Glenda Woods had a great day out on the tough course with the best score of the day of 36 points to win B grade.
It was a big week of golf at home, starting with the Wednesday par competition.
The top score of the day was shared between three players. Darren Cook (14) won A-grade with a terrific score of plus 4 on a countback from Peter Sawyer, and the B-grade winner was Don Gee (25) also with plus 4.
The nearest to the pin on the 4th was won by Peter Sawyer, on the 6th Kevin Summers was the closest, the 12th stayed with the club and Bill Matthews was best on the 17th.
The drive and pitch on the 8th went to Luke Rogan and on the 15th it was Peter Sawyer. The ball pool included Peter Sawyer, Graham Kiper, Jock Mundy, Luke Rogan and Roger Edwards with square on a countback.
The mixed nine-hole winner was Ian Stuart (22) with a great score of 21 points.
On Thursday the club hosted a great field of 60 women for the Phyllis Williams bowl. While the weather was a little damp the day was played in great spirit and was a successful day.
On a difficult scoring day, the Trentham team of Sue Byrne, Terri O’Callaghan and Kath Keating were the winners of the bowl with a combined score of 87 points.
The runners up were the Mandalay team of Jan McCormick, Sally Blaquiere and Debbie Brockwell with 85 points on a countback from Lancefield.
The A-grade winner was Sandy Wicking from Kilmore with 33 points and the runner-up was Jubilee’s Leeanne Carmody with 30 points.
B-grade was won by Di Byrne with 34 points and the runner-up was Mary Campbell from Broadford with 31 points on a countback. Helen Findlay from Alexandra won C-grade with 31 points on a countback from Lancefield’s Leanne Jeffery, who was the runner-up.
The nearest to the pins went to Di Byrne on the 6th, Kerry Hewlett from Strathbogie on the 12th and Leanne Carmody on the 17th.
Saturday was a stableford round for the men, which included a multiply team event. The individual winner was Don Gee (24) who continued his good form with 38 points. The runner up was Peter Sawyer (7) with 38 points.
The team winners in the multiply event were John Muscovich and John Boruch, who had a score of 79 points.
The nearest to the pin on the 4th stayed with the club, on the 6th Greg Pell was the closest, the 12th was won by Peter Nelson and on the 17th it was Roger Edwards.
The drive and pitch on the 8th was won by John Muscovich and the 15th went to Peter Nelson. The ball pool included Greg Pell, John Muscovich, Peter Nelson and Sean Boland with 36 points.
The women played a par round and the winner was Sophie Rilen (26) with a square score on a countback from Paula Britton.
The nearest to the pin on the 17th was won by Paula Britton and the ball pool went to Sophie Rilen and Paula Britton.
Sunday Pennant started well for the restricted handicap team, who travelled to Trentham to take on Woodend and had a good 3/2 win.
