There was a blistering ton, an eight-wicket haul, a disqualification and plenty more to highlight this week’s edition of Saturday Sundries.

Mooroopna veteran Simon D’Elia has hit a rich vein of form towards the end of the summer.
After belting a ton in recent weeks, D’Elia backed up his effort by producing some wizardry with his left-arm tweakers.
D’Elia claimed an astonishing 8-80 from 30 overs as his side fell short to Tatura at the weekend.
The veteran Cat leads the B-grade competition for runs (422) and has taken 21 wickets at 12.9.
Tatura’s Will Russell also claimed a five-for in the match after he took 5-41 from 13.4 overs in the first innings but his effort was overshadowed by the eight-wicket bonanza.
In another B-grade match, Numurkah’s Reydan Lacuin was at his best as he spun Nagambie’s batters into a web.
Lacuin took 6-72 from 31 overs to help boost his side to victory in a top-of-the-table clash.
Katandra disqualified
Staying in the same grade, Katandra’s shot at B-grade finals has been put in jeopardy after the side was disqualified from its match against Euroa.
After bowling the Magpies out for 96, the Eagles' quickfire 0-92 on day one nearly had the match all sewn up.
However, a permit wasn’t granted to usual A-grade player Jedd Wright, who struck 72* off 49 balls, so the Eagles were disqualified from the match and the Magpies were handed their second win of the season.
Katandra now sits in seventh place needing a miracle to make it past the final round of the home-and-away season.
Some are questioning whether this crisis could have been averted if Josh McKinnon had simply opened the batting...
Northerners send CPStB south after D-grade blitz
Northerner's D-grade side has featured in the News a fair amount this summer.
Whether it be for large hauls of wickets or tiny targets chased, Northerners' D-grade sure knows how to make a headline.
Last weekend was no different when the second-placed Northerners demolished Central Park-St Brendan’s away from home.
The hosts lost the toss and were sent into field.
Northerners' batters made the most of the calm and mild conditions as the visitors blasted 6-275 from their 40 overs.
Opener Sam Dawes was the conductor of the innings, scoring a scintillating 134 runs from 94 balls in an innings that included 12 boundaries and eight sixes.
Northerners’ innings ended with a bang as four wickets - three to Central Park-St Brendan’s Ash Hooper - fell in the final over.
The Tigers would have been hoping to bring that momentum into their innings but the Northerners’ bowlers were nipping at the batters' heels from ball one.
Central Park-St Brendan’s was skittled for 67 runs after just 31.3 overs as Northerners won by 208 runs.
The wickets were well spread across the visitors.
