Numurkah enters the new season at the base of the Murray Netball League mountain.
Making their return to the A-grade ranks last year, it was a baptism of fire for the Blues as they lost all 18 matches to slump to the wooden spoon.
But 2023 offers new hope on the Numurkah Showgrounds courts, as a host of returning stars have the Blues placed to make a jump back into relevancy.
Two-time A-grade premiership player Fiona Elliott is back on board, with the 200-gamer set to bring a wealth of experience as the club’s new A-grade coach.
Local legend Tamara Skinner and the highly-skilled Ella Sprunt are also back in blue, while high-profile Strathmerton recruit Caitlyn Price adds to what has been a plentiful off-season.
Now sporting an exciting mix of youth and experience, Elliott said she was confident of a quick rise up the ladder.
“We’ve had a really good pre-season and enthusiasm is through the roof with a few more senior players returning to the club,” she said.
“The goal for the start of the season is pretty simple, we want to get a few wins on the board.
“From there we’d really like to compete with the top sides and push for a spot in the finals.”
