Sitting second and fourth respectively heading into the round 12 meeting, both Nagambie and Moama were desperate to consolidate their position in the standings with just four teams progressing to play finals, and only four matches remaining.
Playing at Moama Recreation Reserve, the home side won the toss and elected to bat, however they would soon be questioning that decision as Sharay Slivarich (1-16) removed opener Beatrix Bray to leave Moama at 1-12 early.
Mowers co-captain Olivia Davy would soon find herself in the pavilion also, removed by Caitlyn Elliott (1-14) for just six, before Shelley Houston snared the prized scalp of dangerous Moama number three Delaney Laffy, sending her packing for just nine and putting the visitors well and truly on top, with Moama languishing at 3-31.
But the home side rallied, with Isla Laffy (30 not-out) and Jinaya Nurse (23 not-out) steadying the ship in the middle order, helping their side advance to 5-87 from the 20 overs.
Breanna Davison returned the best figures for the Lakers with the ball, claiming 1-7, while Elliott, Houston, Slivarich and Kayla Shepherd rounded out the wicket-takers.
It would be Shepherd that did the damage with the bat too, putting in a devastating performance at the top of the order to take the game away from Moama with a few swings of the bat.
Smacking 35 not-out from 30 deliveries, Shepherd, along with Davison (27 not-out from 13 balls) ensured the chase was a quick one, taking just 14 overs to reach the 88 runs required for the loss of just two wickets.
Delaney Laffy was the sole wicket-taker for Moama, claiming 2-10 from her four overs in an impressive display with the ball.
The win ensures Nagambie remains in second place with three rounds remaining, and will take on Cooma in a T20 at Nagambie Recreation Reserve on February 2 following the Australia Day bye next week.
