“Very good, very good numbers, very happy with the list,” senior football co-coach Kade Rowe said.
“We’re always striving to get better – after every training session.
And it’s a very happy football manager, Dale Ferguson, at this stage.
“We’ve retained a good 95 per cent of the players at the club,” he said.
“With the recruits brought in for this season we have great youth on our side and it’s quality. Numbers are strong and junior numbers are also strong.
“It’s a confident squad going into the season.
“We believe we have the side which hopefully will go deep into the finals.”

The Lions went out in the elimination final last season.
Despite the constant hot weather, training has not slackened off according to Rowe, who will be joined this year by co-coach Matt Gorman and who replaces Bodhi Butts.
Gorman’s background is excellent for the job having played representative football with Ovens and Murray, and Goulburn Valley.
The Yarrawonga/Mooroopna recruit has been a very much respected footballer over the past few seasons and is a leader at Lonsdale Reserve.
“Matt’s an uncompromising footballer with a lot of experience,” Ferguson said.
“He and Kade have put together a great program for a fantastic season.”

Recruits to the Lions deb are Kyle Tyson from Yarrawonga who is joining his brother Brodie Tyson.
“Kye can seriously play,” Ferguson said.
“He’s a key position player who has played in two grand finals with Yarrawonga and their younger brother Under 18’s Mitch from Yarrawonga is also a good acquisition.”
Will Robinson, an onballer/forward from Yarrawonga is now at Mulwala, as is son of a gun James Elliott, a swingman, back from Blackburn and Harley Middleton, who booted seven goals against Congupna in Mulwala’s 2023 grand final win is back.
Recruits Brad Ward and James Elliott.
Brad Ward from Lismore/Derrinallum, a versatile player and Matt Collins-Bye key backman from Tocumwal will make their presence felt at Mulwala this season, as will versatile Lewis Taylor returning from injury and number one ruckman Owen Conway who missed all of last season with injury.
Recruit Sebastin Fernandez from Katandra will be pushing for senior selection.
“Owen’s back at full fitness – he’ll make a big difference and loves the physical part of the game,” Ferguson said.
After being co-coach of A Grade netball last season with Narelle Donovan, Steph Beams will be the sole coach for Mulwala’s top side.

“Pre season is going well,” Steph said.
“There are lots of girls, some new faces, which is always nice, but we’ve still got our core of players, which is also important.”
Bre Flanagan is having time off and Ellie Dickins will play at Yarrawonga this season.
Recruits include Elle Lothian, a mid courter, from Bendigo and Grace Thompson returns after having a baby.
“Numbers are very good for all grades and we’re hoping we can make finals and go as deep as we can,” Steph said.
