After licking its wounds following last round’s upset to Barooga, Nathalia was keen to return to form and cement its second place sitting on the ladder.
Rory Knight took up the wicket to open for the visitors, going on to snag 11 from 30 before falling to returned Cobram gun Adam Decicco.
Nathalia’s Brenton Campbell had an impressive go with the bat, making 54 from 90. But with Tyron Baden returned to the line-up for Cobram, making runs was never going to be a walk in the park for Nathalia.
Morris, Campbell, Boyd, both Quinns - the list of Baden’s victims goes on. Ending the day on 5-15, Baden’s bowling action was just as electrifying as his batting looks (24 from 24, not out) set to be on day two.
Combined efforts from Downie, Decicco and Baden saw Nathalia all out for 115 in the 39th over.

Hugh Hyde took to the crease to open for the Tigers, notching up a solid 25 from 69. A show of bowling prowess from Nathalia’s Dylan Cunningham constrained Daniel Ellis (8 from 7) and Lachlan Hyde (11 from 47).
At stumps, Cobram ended the day on 4-93 after 42 overs.
Trailing Nathalia by 22, Cobram has work to continue on the second day of the round this weekend.
