The Club Tocumwal YSM Pennant Team played their final round against Jubilee at Benalla on February 16.
After a disappointing loss against the home team Numurkah the previous round, we found ourselves in a do-or-die contest against a very strong side in Jubilee.
First cab off the rank, we welcomed back Randall Jakeman and Jeff Rogers, who fell agonisingly short going down 2-1.
Next out was Aaron Dale and Nat H (surname not provided) who got off to a slow start being four down to claw back and win 3-2.
John Laidlaw and James Orpwood had an arm wrestle all day, squaring their match on 18, while ‘Big Bomber’ John Thompson and Brett Molnar cruised to a 5-4 win.
Last out we saw Darran Rowe and Stuart Tenderson grind out a tough match, sealing the deal on the last winning 2up.
Tocumwal 3.5 defeated Jubliee 1.5 to secure a spot in the Division 1 final against Numurkah this Sunday at Barooga.
This sees our scratch side play in the third final in as many seasons.
We would like to thank Benalla for hosting the day, and give a huge mention to the ground staff for the preparation of the course.
If you see any of the team around the club between now and the final, give them a congratulations. Making this final has not been easy.
