Is 2023 the year Violet Town finally goes to the next level on the netball court?
Sporting an exciting mix of youth and experience, the Towners continued on their upwards trajectory last year, as they qualified for and won a final on their way to a fifth-placed finish.
Now the challenge for coach Kolby Wild, who takes the reins solo for the first time after co-coach Abbie Ellis stepped aside, is to turn this promising team into a premiership contender.
But with young stars Jayde Burden and Imy Law leading the way, and a plethora of recruits to don the Violet Town colours, Wild said she could not wait to see what the girls could accomplish.
“We’ve been in a bit of a building phase for the past few seasons, and are hoping that this is the year everything really starts to come together,” Wild said.
“Recruiting-wise we’ve done a great job in adding more speed into the squad which is something we lacked a bit of last year.
“So overall, things are looking very positive at the moment and hopefully that translates into more finals netball.”
