The first of the region’s leagues has announced its schedule for next season, starting with a bang as a bumper round one has been slated for April 5.
Benalla will be on the road for the first outing of the season, as it travels to Princess Park to take on Shepparton Swans and put the troubles of 2024 behind it.
The Benalla Showgrounds oval and courts will come alive again in round two, with the Saints set to host 2024 grand finalist Shepparton for its first home game of the season.
Elsewhere in round one, reigning premier Echuca is set to welcome Shepparton United to begin its defence, while Shepparton faces Tatura, Mooroopna hosts Mansfield, Kyabram plays Euroa and Seymour treks to Rochester.
A grand final replay on the A-grade netball court commences in round two when the Murray Bombers head to Euroa, looking to avenge the 12-goal loss in September’s decider.
Round three features the first split round for Good Friday followed by another Friday special between the Swans and Tatura on Anzac Day weekend.
The spectacle of interleague returns on May 24 when the GVL seeks to retain its Ash-Wilson Trophy crown against the Ovens and Murray League after the storied 8.15 (63) to 7.6 (48) victory at Deakin Reserve earlier in the year.
Other special weekends are the Say No to Violence (May 10) and King’s Birthday (June 7) markers, while culture will be front and centre during rounds 13 and 14 for a celebration of Indigenous heritage.
Finals begin on the weekend of August 30-31 with the knockout rounds culminating in the big dance on September 21.
