The Shepparton Gold Cup — the region’s night of nights in the harness racing community — proved a true spectacle to behold for all involved on Saturday night.

Race by race, the action never failed to deliver leading up to the $50,000 Shepparton Gold Cup, which had plenty of drama reserved as original victor Captain Hammerhead was disqualified.
Instead, Kanena Provlima was promoted to winner, denying what would have been a fairytale home win for trainer David Moran.
Regardless of the result, Saturday night’s event was a crowd pleaser by all accounts with the stands packed and plenty filing through the turnstiles to catch the pulsating racing.
