Conditions were ideal Saturday morning at Shepparton’s athletic centre as kids geared up to compete in various disciplines.
Featuring some condensed versions of traditional athletic events, such as a 50m sprint in addition to the usual distances, morale was high throughout the meet.
The day featured some other contests you wouldn’t find in the seniors as well - imagine having the chance to win gold for throwing a NERF Vortex toy the furthest.
Real javelins don’t make that cool noise as they fly through the air, either.
Rechelle Zammit was on hand to capture the day’s events for The News.
