Hosting grand finals for both the under-16 A and B-grades and the under-14 A-grade competitions, some of the region’s most talented young cricketers set out to hoist the title in three entertaining matches.
In the under-16 A-grade decider Old Students made light work of Euroa at Kialla Park Reserve.
Choosing to bat first, Euroa made 8-33 off their 20 overs, with the side’s batting talent held by a strong bowling performance.
Headlining the Students’ spell with the ball in hand was Darby O’Brien’s 3-5 and Ashton Young’s 2-0, with the side then chasing its opponent’s total with ease to secure the win.
Key performer: Notre Dame-St Brendan’s player Jayden Thorne played well with bat and ball.

All smiles: Under-16 A-grade Twenty20 premiers Old Students.
Earlier in the evening Waaia took home the chocolates in its under-16 B-grade showdown with Nagambie.
Posting a strong score of 6-111, including an impressive Kaleb Gilmour 36, the Bombers were a class above, dismissing the Lakers for just 66 runs to secure victory.
Joining Waaia on the winners’ list was the Notre Dame-St Brendan’s under-14 A-grade outfit, with the side downing Euroa by 29 runs.
Standing out for the Bombers was Jayden Thorne, with the talent following a score of 23 with 4-4 with the ball.
Joining Thorne as a key performer on the day was fellow bomber Thomas Mellington (3-9), while Magpie Oliver Wilson (2-3) did his best with the ball in hand.
News photographer Rechelle Zammit went along to the under-14 A-grade decider to capture all the action.
