Having dominated proceedings to bowl the home side out for just 91 on day one, the Eagles resumed their innings on day two at 1-20, needing just 72 runs to secure first innings points.
Despite a few early wobbles which saw Benjamin Bryant (16) run out, as well as skipper Seamus Feery and Michael Brown dismissed to leave Eastern Hill at 4-58, a solid middle order partnership between Ollie Bryant and Matthew Collard steadied the ship.
The pair safely navigated the 34 remaining runs needed when they joined each other at the crease, putting on a partnership of 58 to comfortably surpass the Diggers Rest total before Collard was dismissed for 34.
Ollie Bryant departed shortly after for 29 and after a Riley Graham cameo that added a quickfire 30 runs, the Eagles declared at 8-163 to give themselves a chance of the outright win.
While Benjamin Bryant tore through the line-up in a brutal seven-over spell, claiming figures of 4-4 to leave Diggers Rest down 4-29 and still 44 runs away from forcing the Eagles to bat again, Eastern Hill ran out of time to get the job done, having to settle for a first innings win.
The result ensures Eastern Hill is still locked in a tussle for top spot with just two rounds remaining before finals, sitting 0.3 points behind ladder-leader Wallan.
The Eagles will play third-placed East Sunbury this weekend in the final two-day match of the season as they look to climb into top spot.
