Hold tight - we’re checking permissions before loading more content
Tungamah players are still revelling in their Midweek Grand Final victory and excited to see what next season brings.
What Division will they be in? Who will they play and how far will they travel? 2025-2026 will be another challenging year for the three teams, but will meet it head on and fight the way Tunga does and aim to get all in the finals once again for the third year in a row.
It’s great to hear some players who have been unable to participate this year for a variety of reasons, say they will be available when we resume, plus some from other cubs who are considering making a change.
Players are always welcome; we like to share hospitality.

YMGCR Bowls
Wednesday Social Bowls
As YMGCR was hosting the 2025 Hahn SuperDry Tournament there was no Wednesday Social Bowls last week.
The good news is that Wednesday Social resumes this Wednesday, March 19.
With the cooler weather hopefully now here, Wednesday Social will be moving back to the traditional starting time of 12.30pm.
This season the change in format to nominated 3 bowl pairs, played over 22 ends has been very popular with players: not to mention the increase in prize money.
The Lucky Number raffle is also very popular. Single entries and visitors are still welcome to play.
We would ask visitors and single entries to provide a contact telephone number when placing your names on the entry sheets located on the bowls office noticeboard.
Friday Social Bowls
The ever-popular Friday Social Bowls is back; commencing this Friday, March 21 at 12.30pm. The format is the usual 2 x 4 x 2 nominated pairs.
Fridays are extremely popular, so to make sure you get a game place your names nice and early on the entry sheets located on the bowls office noticeboard. See you on Friday.
Hahn SuperDry Tournament
YMGCR held the Hahn SuperDry Tournament last week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
The tournament format was nominated mixed pairs played over four games per day of 2 x 2 x 2 x 2 over the three days.
44 players combining 22 sides battled it out for a total prize pool of $4,500.
With a prize money breakdown of 1st prize $2,000, 2nd prize $1,000, 3rd prize $500, 4th prize $300 and 5th prize $200.
There was also a $200 mystery team prize draw.
Feedback from the players was overwhelmingly positive. The greens ran well, the lunches were good. The warm weather proved to be something of a challenge, particularly on Tuesday.
Thanks go to the Tournament Organising Committee, comprising Ray Irvine, Norm Windebank, Anne Miles, Jill Lamson and Ray Brown, who worked so hard to make the event a success.
Kerry Kinnane was a daily help with co-ordinating the scoring. YMGCR’s Carolyn Boston and Gavin Fear from St. James Bowling Club also deserve a huge vote of thanks for umpiring over the three days.
Jill Lamson also did a terrific job of co ordinating the raffles.
1st prize of $2,000 went to the team of Michael Szabo and Evelyn Calder from Yarrawonga Bowls Club.
Making it a big tournament for Yarrawonga Bowls Club were Ian Woods and Sue Middleton who won the $1,000 2nd prize.
3rd prize of $500 went to Wayne and Janis Parkes from Inverloch Bowling Club.
4th prize of $300 went to the combo of Rhonda Irvine and Michael Vaughan from YMGCR.
5th prize of $200 was won by the YMGCR team of Anne Miles and Ian Brimblecombe.
The mystery team draw of $200 was won by Jan and Cliff Morton from YMGCR.
Until next week, good bowling.
