A man who was caught driving on a main Goulburn Valley road while his licence was suspended has faced court.
Lucas Neagoe, 34, of Stanhope, pleaded guilty in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court to driving while suspended.
Prosecutor Leading Senior Constable Anna Hanlon said Neagoe was driving a white van while his licence was suspended on the Midland Hwy in Tatura on July 16, 2024.
Neagoe’s licence had been suspended on June 6, 2024 for three months.
He told police he didn’t know his licence was suspended, Leading Sen Constable Hanlon said.
Representing himself in court, Neagoe said he’d learned his lesson and his driving offences were all in the past.
Neagoe said he wasn’t used to driving on long roads after moving to the region from Melbourne two years ago.
He told the court there were traffic lights everywhere in Melbourne, but since moving he had learned how to use cruise control.
Neagoe was fined $300.
