There was a terrific attendance there this year.
But, as usual, the sound system was terrible.
Speaking to others around, I think the only people who could hear clearly were the people seated at the front.
We couldn’t hear the band or the hymns or the readings, but the bugle was excellent.
Could some money be provided by council or by public donations to supply a decent speaker system?

COVID finding a cause for concern
It has come to my attention that the Australian Journal of General Practice in its current issue (Vol 4, Issue 53) has published an article entitled “Long COVID: Sufferers can take heart”.
The author of this paper, Robert Tindle, goes on to say that “COVID-19 vaccines were approved without long-term safety data and might cause immune dysfunction”. The “dysfunction” occurs because the spike protein - part of the virus and encoded in the mRNA vaccine - “exhibits pathogenic characteristics and is a possible cause of post-acute sequelae, after [viral] infection or...vaccination”. In other words, you can get long covid after either event.
Tindle remarks that this is cause for serious concern, and illustrates that concern with an estimate of 240,000 Australians with long covid who can no longer work full time. I'm not sure on what basis they “can take heart”, unless it is because he calls for research to be undertaken in order to find solutions.
A take-home message: If you are suffering from this syndrome, please encourage your doctor to read this article, to order appropriate tests and to find effective treatments and/or supplements, and do not accept a diagnosis of a mental health disorder. And if you have no signs of this condition, please be compassionate and open-minded towards those who do.

Thanks for Anzac donations
As the appeals officer of the Benalla RSL sub-branch, I wish to express my thanks to the people of Benalla for their generosity in supporting the RSL during the current Anzac Appeal.
The total figure is not yet available, but at present $15,000-plus would indicate that our veterans from all wars will be able to receive assistance as and when needed.
The friendliness given to my volunteers by donors was excellent and made for a happy campaign.
