Great to hear that our local Federal Member for Nicholls Damian Drum is close to realising that climate change is the greatest threat to Australia’s future.

It is hoped by the end of the next week the laggards in the National Party will join the Liberals and commit to net-zero emissions by 2050 — a belated but necessary step.
However, if we have any chance of limiting global warming to 1.5°C and reaping the economic opportunities presented, we must immediately increase federal funding five-fold on all aspects associated with renewable energy production and re-engineering of our economy, so that we have achieved net-zero emissions in some sectors and well on the way in all other sectors by 2030.
Then we can concentrate on removing CO2 from the atmosphere.
