Alan, as he was fondly known, endeared himself to a lot of patrons working as a barman at the Kyabram Club with his friendly and helpful manner.
Julie Febey of the Kyabram Club said Alan had worked at the club for 10 years in the early 2000s and had made it his business to get know the names of all the club’s customers whom he always greeted with a friendly welcoming smile.
After his days at the Kyabram Club he worked at the Mooroopna Golf Club and Kyabram Woolworths Liquor outlet.
He was married to Michelle for 20 years and they had three children Nikita, Jakarta and Dakota, and although they had split, were still friends.
Alan was living with his partner of 10 years Kim at the time of his death.
His funeral was held last Thursday and conducted by Kyabram and District Funerals.
