Shepparton 2020, showing the “urban sprawl”.

Oddie loves reading other publications that like to think they have a good feel for Shepparton.
Christmas/new year is slow for news and the “urban sprawl” yarn showing a photo from Nearmap 10 years ago and now to highlight the changing face of regional cities showed promise.

Ah, how the spread of housing has changed Shepparton.
In 2010 we had an empty lake and, in 2020, we had a full one, presumably with some underwater Atlantis to accommodate the masses.
Any Sheppartonian can identify where the growth has actually been, north, south and east, not smack bang in the middle of a lake.
Good onya Bob
Shepparton RSL president Robert “Bob” Wilkie has been awarded life membership of RSL Victoria.
A great early Christmas gift for Bob, a Vietnam veteran who has given plenty to sub-branches at Kyabram and Shepparton and continues to serve the veteran community.
Stay safe on the road
Oddie is a bit of a homebody and had the displeasure of travelling for Christmas.
Coming home from the big smoke no less than eight police vehicles were spotted on the Hume and Goulburn Valley highways doing speed checks and keeping us safe instead of being with their own families.
Oddie stayed slow and steady and arrived safely — we all should.
