Riviera Pizza
Co-owners of Riviera Pizza in Shepparton, Rai and Dhami Singh, decided to join the Parma for a Farmer campaign after they noticed no-one was participating in the Shepparton area.
“We're doing Parma for a Farmer to support the farmers, especially when they live in this region,” Rai said.
Rai and Dhami will donate $2 from every parmigiana sold and aim to raise between $500 and $1000 for the cause.
Finley Country Club Hotel
The Finley Country Club Hotel reopened last year in the middle of the drought and saw great support from the community, raising $500.
Licensee Rick Shaw said every little bit they could do helped.
“The cause is so easy to identify with, something you have to experience and the support from the drive-throughs is fantastic,” he said.
“We buy, support and live local — how could we not support the people that have supported us?”
The hotel has 10 fresh parmigianas to choose from and will donate $1 from every parmigiana sold.
Tooborac Hotel and Brewery
The Tooborac Hotel and Brewery participated in Parma for a Farmer in August and managed to raise more than $1000.
The hotel donated $1 from every parmigiana sold along with donations from tins around the hotel.
Hotel manager Jamie Pryor said it made sense to participate due to the area he lived in.
“We participated in this cause as local farmers are affected throughout the country, as well as several which we have locally in Tooborac, Pyalong and surrounds.”
