State Member for Shepparton Kim O’Keeffe announced that Shepparton will host the launch of this year’s Women Economic Forum in November, marking a significant milestone for the region.
“I am always a strong believer in showcasing our region more broadly, which creates exposure and opportunity,” Ms O’Keeffe said.
“This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our region on the world stage.”
At the 2024 Women Economic Forum held in Melbourne, Ms O’Keeffe took the opportunity to invite organisers to consider including Shepparton and regional Victoria in the program for 2025.
“It is so important that you get to experience regional Victoria and everything we have to offer,” she said.
Reflecting on last year’s forum, which attracted over 200 women from diverse backgrounds, Ms O’Keeffe said she was impressed by the format itself and the opportunity it gave women to connect, learn and share.
“It was by far one of the most impactful events that I have attended,” she said.
“To have such a prominent international event locally and for it to be open to our local inspiring women is very exciting.”
As plans for the November launch unfold, participants, including international guests, are expected to come from near and far to listen to an inspiring lineup of speakers.
Local businesses are also encouraged to participate by sponsoring the event.
Further details will be revealed in early 2025.
