Goulburn Ovens institute of TAFE’s two new Tesla vehicles appeared at the August 10 show, some of the first to be acquired by TAFE in Victoria.
The Teslas enable students to keep up with the industry surge in demand for electric vehicle training.
GOTAFE co-ordinator automotive Mark Ward said the market for vehicles was finally switching gears.
“Everyone is looking at green energy and making a move away from fossil fuels,” Mr Ward said.
“The biggest benefit of having access to electric vehicles is the support it will provide to our learners.
“We are planning to have some courses in the market to help local workshops keep up with changes in technology. It is an exciting time for the automotive industry.”
GOTAFE plans to use the in-demand vehicles to deliver a range of training to industry, including mechanics, spray painters, panel beaters, CFA, police, ambulance and tow truck drivers. Charging stations have also been installed.
For more information on courses offered by GOTAFE, attend its open day on Saturday, September 2 at the Wallis St campus, Seymour.
