From the moment he hit the ground, Toby has been great. Many, many years later the kelpie might not be as spry or quick, but he's still irreplaceable on Paul O'Sullivan's Cosgrove South sheep property.
How did you get Toby?
He's from Anthony Kilmartin. I bought him trained. He was well over 12 months old.
What's Toby like?
He's a good all-rounder and a great working dog. He's fantastic working in the corners. Best dog I've ever had.
No plans to raise a successor?
Not at the moment, but one day I'll have to. At the moment me and Toby are getting by just fine.
Did you ever consider getting some puppies from him?
We did actually. My brother owns a son called Brax.
Where does Toby sleep?
On the back of the ute. He likes being up there, it's his favourite place. I've actually put a bit of a mattress down for him on the tray.
What does Toby eat?
What kind of question is that?
No special diet?
Just dry dog food. He likes it just fine.
