The competition is for young rural people aged 18 to 35 years who are keen to demonstrate their skill in a range of farming-related tasks.
“People think you have to be a farmer to participate, but you don’t,” Cobram Agricultural Society secretary Heidi French said.
“Anyone can join, as long as there are four people.“
Mixed teams of up to four competitors will complete various tasks, including handling cattle, extinguishing a fire and delivering first aid.
Pull out your pen and calendar because the countdown is on for another blockbuster weekend at the Cobram Agricultural Show.
Whether you’re into stomach-churning rides or kicking back with a cup of hot chips to watch the crowds go by, there will be something for everyone.
Mrs French said this year’s show would cater to all ages, after feedback from the community last year.
“This year we’ve found attractions that will range for toddlers through to teenagers,” she said.
Mrs French said the community had expressed significant interest in the show’s various competitions.
She said the community was excited to see the show return last year after a three-year hiatus.
“After three years ... to hold something for the community again was fantastic to do,” she said.
Crowds will be held on the edge of their seats with the show jumping, while there will be competitions for sheep, dog and pony handling.
There will also be a petting zoo, face painting, mermaid braids and Cartoon Portraits by Irene.
In two Cobram Show firsts, Eljay Freestyle Entertainment is set to stun crowds with its world-renowned motorcycle and bicycle stunt display.
The Cobram Show will be held at the Cobram Showgrounds on Saturday, October 26, and Sunday, October 27.
