Titled The Big Ask, the Sunday, March 3, event at Mooroopna Education and Community Hub exceeded all expectations.
Presented by GV Finance Brokers and supported by Headspace, Giz a Break and Talking Straight, the event attracted attendees from across the Greater Shepparton and Goulburn Valley region.
The highlight was a talk by AFL great Ray ‘Razor’ Chamberlain, who candidly shared his journey through mental health struggles.
“Razor's honesty resonated so deeply with the audience,” event organiser Simon Quattrocchi said.
“You could feel the hope his story ignited.”
An expert panel also connected attendees to crucial local mental health services and support, like Headspace Shepparton, Goulburn Valley Health and Beyond Blue.
Feedback from attendees praised the wealth of resources and information provided.
Many remarked on the power of uniting as a community to address mental health challenges.
“I was very please quality of the speakers and information conveyed,” Mr Quattrocchi said.
“More needs to be done to get men to these events, it will be part of our future planning.”
