Stanhope's Fonterra celebrations planned for this Sunday, July 25, have been postponed due to uncertainty over COVID-19 restrictions.
Fonterra has organised a community event to mark 100 years of dairy processing at the Stanhope site.
However, Fonterra northern regional operations manager Steve Taylor said, unfortunately, COVID-19 had other plans and given the uncertainty about what may unfold in the weeks ahead, they have made the decision to postpone this event until the situation settles.
“The safety of our people, our farmers, their families and our community are one of our top priorities and with the large number of RSVPs, we feel this is the right decision to make at this time.
“Our factory is still turning 100, and this is an incredible milestone and piece of history we want to share and celebrate with people.”
Mr Taylor said the company would promote the new date when it could be confirmed.
