The joint venture called Gourmet Ingredients will seek to develop intellectual property to deliver "culinary experiences" across the world, utilising Döhler's sales and distribution networks.
Döhler is one of the world’s most recognised producers, marketers and providers of technology-driven natural ingredients, ingredient systems and integrated solutions for the food and beverage industry.
SPC chair Hussein Rifai said the partnership would ensure SPC could deliver the products customers wanted.
“Consumer palettes have become much more sophisticated over time and they expect consistency, high quality, natural and nutritional culinary experience. For today’s consumer, food is now an adventure, and an experience,” he said.
Döhler Australia director Peter Gates labelled the partnership a "perfect marriage".
“This partnership will provide us with the opportunity to work together to develop some very unique integrated solutions for the global market,” he said.
“With SPC’s expertise in supply processing and manufacturing and Döhler’s experience in creating innovative ingredients systems, the joint venture is the perfect marriage to promote and create Australian grown agriculture raw materials intellectual property that can be sold to the world.”
Mr Rifai said the partnership would pave the way for SPC to become a global player in food production and take Australian innovation to the world.
Döhler’s product portfolio of natural ingredients ranges from natural flavours, natural colours, health ingredients, pulses and cereal ingredients, dairy and plant-based ingredients, fermented ingredients, dry fruit and vegetable ingredients, fruit and vegetable ingredients to ingredient systems.
