Photographer Kelly Carmody snapped this photograph of the Aurora Australis between Rushworth and Colbinabbin on the evening of September 12. Rural residents have been treated to beautiful light displays this year. These displays are caused by geomagnetic storms, triggered by coronal mass ejections from the sun.
