St Michael’s School students used ‘Sock it to poverty’ as the slogan for their annual Mission Day, with crazy socks a feature of the celebrations.
The day is intended to allow students to recognise and learn about poverty and social injustice around the world.
Students listen to Pope Francis’ yearly mission statement and assist in fundraising for his chosen charity.
As well as dressing in crazy socks, the students enjoyed a mini fete filled with activities.
They participated in games such as ‘soak a sock’ and a chocolate toss, creating healthy competition and lots of laughs.
