Shepparton residents have their heads in the clouds and their eyes set on high-flying careers, according to recent research.
BizCover, a business insurance comparison site, has delved into Google search trends to uncover the most sought-after professional paths in the city, with ‘pilot’ emerging as the most coveted job title.
With an average of 140 monthly searches, aspiring pilots are charting a course for their future in aviation, leading the pack of preferred professions.
BizCover head of marketing Sharon Kenny said she found the insight into the career goals of people in Shepparton fascinating.
“Whether driven by economic trends, cultural shifts or personal ambitions, it’s clear that ‘pilot’ is capturing the imagination of many here,” she said.
The study, from August 2023 to July 2024, analysed over 700 job roles and queries on how to embark on these career journeys.
But it wasn’t all ‘plane’ speaking piquing the interest of Shepparton’s job seekers.
Among the top-searched professions were ‘real estate agent” and ‘paramedic’, followed by ‘police officer’ and ‘psychologist’, highlighting the community’s emphasis on public safety and security.
Though BizCover’s research offers only a snapshot of Shepparton’s workforce aspirations, its findings indicate diverse career ambitions across the city.
