The show will officially open at 2pm on Friday, October 7, with the presentation of certificates of appreciation to show volunteers for their service and support during the the past years.
Entertainment will include the Eljay freestyle motorcycle comedy stunt show and Gastropodia roving entertainment — gigantic hairy snails and their riders making music and their way through the crowds.
The Can You Dig It? gardening team, a bunch of percussive gardeners, will play infectious rhythms on flower pots and a range of other gardening implements, while the Anti Gravity Circus Duo will get the audience involved in a range of activities as they perform magic, juggling, unicycle, balancing, contortion and fire acts.
There will be free camel rides, the ever-popular ferret races, the Wadaiko Rindo Japanese drummers (Saturday only) as well as arts, crafts, cookery, horticulture and community displays, Australia’s biggest quiz and highland dancing demonstration.
Out in the arena there will be livestock judging of miniature horses and ponies from 1pm and the dairy cattle youth show from 5pm on Friday and on Saturday all eyes will be on the champion dog show, cattle, goats, and poultry.
The show will be held on October 7 and 8 and the Shepparton Showgrounds.
Show organisers are putting out a call for volunteers to help before, during and after the show — phone 5821 4677 or email sheppagsoc@gmail.com for more details.
