The draft of MoiraVision 2045 was developed in collaboration with a panel of 19 residents considered to have the expertise and lived experience to advise the future direction of the shire.
Taking part in two workshops, they collaborated to identify key priorities for the next 20 years to reflect the aspirations, values, and priorities of the people who live, work and invest in Moira Shire.
Moira Shire Council chair, administrator Dr Graeme Emonson said community input was essential to shaping a vision that truly represented the region’s needs.
“This vision will influence council’s strategic planning and priorities for decades to come,” Dr Emonson said.
“We want to make sure it reflects what our community values most.”
The draft MoiraVision 2045 is built around four themes, community, environment, livability and prosperity.
Its aim is an inclusive and connected region, protecting natural assets, enhancing infrastructure and services, and supporting economic growth.
Residents are encouraged to review the draft vision and provide feedback through an online survey.
A pop-up session will be held in Cobram on Wednesday, March 26 from 11.30am - 1.30pm in the square near the Grain Store on Punt Rd, and in Numurkah at Newman Square at 11.30am - 1.30pm on Thursday, March 27.
“This is the community’s opportunity to influence the future of Moira Shire, and we encourage everyone to get involved and share their thoughts,” Dr Emonson said.
