ROCHESTER Lions Club hosted the club-level judging of the Youth of the Year Quest recently, with five outstanding contestants from Rochester Secondary College.

Each contestant was interviewed by the judges on their school achievements, activities outside of school, general knowledge and presentation.
The evening session was held at Rochester Bowls Club where each contestant was asked two impromptu questions and given up to two minutes to answer each. This was followed by a five-minute prepared speech on a topic of their choice, in which they all excelled.
After much deliberation, the judges awarded the overall win to Elle Palmer and the Public Speaking award to Jayvier Hockings.
Elle will now represent Rochester at the regional level to be held in the near future in Echuca.
Rochester Lions Club wishes to thank the Rochester Secondary College and their staff for their continued support of this project over many years.
