        Cream butter and sugar. Add egg and then beat in honey.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Sift dry ingredients and add to mixture.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Lastly, add hot water and mix thoroughly.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Pour into lined 23cm square tin (or use shapes such as gingerbread man).

        Piece of corned beef

        1 tbsp vinegar or lemon juice
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        20 peppercorns

        Method:
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Into a large saucepan of water add the honey, vinegar, peppercorns and bay leaf.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Place corned beef in the saucepan and bring to boil very slowly.
    
                  
                                                                                                                                                                                    
                              
        Allow to simmer very slowly until cooked — about 30 minutes per 500 grams.
