The Colambally Blues started their Farrer League season last weekend, while both the Murray Football Netball League and Picola and District Football Netball League begin this weekend.
In the Murray League, Finley Football Netball Club will be looking to continue their good form when they play host to Cobram this weekend.
Last year, the club's senior football side missed out on premiership glory by a kick, finishing the game trailing by a solitary behind.
When the senior Cats take to the field on Saturday, their match up with the Tigers won’t be an easy one. The two sides split results last year.
Cobram took the first game in Finley by 42 points, but Finley avenged the loss with a 10-point win in the second game in Cobram.
It’s a similar story for the A-grade netball side.
The Cats closed out the home and away season with five straight wins before being bounced out of the finals in the first elimination.
In both games with the Tigers last season, Finley were able to walk away comfortable winners - the first by 29 points and the second by 23 points.
The action at the Finley Cats home grounds this Saturday will begin as early as 9am with the junior teams.
In the Picola & District Football Netball League, there is a local derby, with the Blighty Redeyes and Jerilderie Demons going head-to-head.
Last year, Jerilderie’s A-grade netball side just missed out on finals, having finished 10th in the Picola and District Netball competition.
But the club was the home of league best-and-fairest, Ella Arnold.
In the one match up between the two clubs’ senior netball teams last year, Jerilderie walked away comfortable winners.
In the senior football clash last year, there wasn’t very much success at all for Blighty, who were swiftly beaten in Jerilderie.
The Berrigan Saints will be looking to start the season off right when they host Rennie.
The two sides played a barn burner in round seven last season.
The two sides could only be separated by a mere three points by the time the final siren had sounded in Rennie, Berrigan coming away as winners.
In the A-grade netball, while neither team played finals, the one game they did play against one another last year was a tight contest. Rennie won by three goals.
Tocumwal have a bye in round one, but will be a side to watch once they kick their season off.
Their season opener will be against Katamatite, away, in round two.
