The program has delivered grants to remote, rural and regional communities since 2020 and announced $250,000 in this round of nationwide funding.
The FRRR aims to strengthen resilience and sustainability and contribute toward long-term positive social and environmental outcomes.
Nutrien Ag Solutions again funded this round, of which $81,000 was delivered to Victorian community groups.
Since 2021, Nutrien has invested over $1m into local not-for-profit projects.
Radio Mansfield was granted $1976 to upgrade access infrastructure at The Paps Lookout emergency generator to ensure broadcasting capability and OH&S obligations are met during bushfires and flood.
The grant will fund installation of a steel staircase to allow access to the emergency generator.
A new Landcare group will be established in Boort with the $5000 allocated to Landcare Australia’s western Victoria network.
The group will be able to increase the addressing of environmental challenges in order to benefit agriculturally dependent communities.
Projects in the FRRR program are chosen on the basis of their contribution to the success, vibrancy and wellbeing of their communities, and are valued up to $5,000.
An additional advantage of Nutrien’s involvement is the use of local branch managers who help local groups to apply, knowing what groups would best benefit the community.
