Proposal for Barmah heavy vehicle training centre

A cultural heritage management plan was prepared for the site, due to its proximity to the RAMSAR-listed Barmah National Park, in consultation with the Yorta Yorta Nations Aboriginal Corporation.

The application by 1 Stop Driving School, seeks to establish a vehicle training facility, including a machinery shed and office building, to educate people how to drive and operate heavy earth-moving machinery.

The site will include an earth pad about 25m in length, 17m wide and 0.6m deep. Students will dig trenches within this earth pad to learn machinery operating skills.

The council has yet to decide on the application.
