Most towns naturally recorded their hottest daily temperatures in the last five days of winter, but there was a warm snap on August 3 observed in the Bureau of Meteorology data.
Yarrawonga, Tatura, Benalla and Kerang all recorded their hottest day on August 3.
Kerang baked the most through a pleasant 22.1℃.
Yarrawonga enjoyed 20.3℃, Benalla 19℃ and Tatura 18.9℃.
All of these temperatures proceeded to go MIA until the very end of August.
The wettest region was again Strathbogie which logged a whopping 138.2mm of monthly rainfall.
However, Strathbogie can’t claim the highest daily rainfall.
That honour goes to Rutherglen which was lashed by 33.8mm on August 30.
On the same day, Bendigo received its highest daily rainfall of 30.6mm.
None of the towns in between Rutherglen and Bendigo saw anything near these measurements.
