The founder of the Greenham Group of meat processing companies, Peter Greenham, has died.
The family announced the death of Mr Greenham in Melbourne on Sunday, August 16 at the age of 83.
His passing was marked by staff at the Tongala Greenham abattoir on Monday.
Mr Greenham was a fifth generation meat processor who developed the business across two states, exporting to 25 countries.
The company owns labels including Cape Grim Beef, Bass Strait Beef, Pure Black Angus Beef, Vintage Beef Co, Greenham Natural Beef and Robbins Island Wagyu brands.
Although the funeral will be restricted by COVID-19 regulations, the company is planning a bigger commemoration in Mr Greenham's memory when conditions allow.
