Bunnaloo Public School hosted its annual open day, putting on a show and recognising a retiring teacher on Thursday, September 12.

The event gave family and friends an opportunity to visit classrooms and watch student performances.
Prospective students and parents were also welcomed on the day ahead of kindergarten enrolments for 2025.
Year 3 students played instruments for their musical item.

Each class presented a musical item for visitors, as well as two whole-school performances, Coming Home by Sheppard and Herman the Worm, both accompanied by choreography.
Staff put on a barbecue for the occasion, also preparing sandwiches and sweet treats for the guests to enjoy.
Tiff Graham and daughter Frankie Weaver and Rachel Kelly and son Angus Bragg checked out the school.

The open day gave principal Darren Devereux an opportunity to acknowledge and thank long-serving teacher Cheryl Marchment.
Officially retiring earlier this year, Mrs Marchment enjoyed some time off to travel at the end of 2023.
The Year 4, 5 and 6 class performed The Cup Song, made famous in 2012 movie Pitch Perfect.

She spent 25 years working at Bunnaloo, becoming a well-loved member of staff and receiving awards for her contribution to the small school.
“Cheryl has been a passionate, loyal teacher,” Mr Devereux said.
“It’s a great effect that she’s had on the lives of many, many people ... I hope you’re very proud of the time you had with us.
“And we are very grateful for everything that you put into our school.”
Recently retired teacher Cheryl Marchment was recognised by the school, pictured with captains Audrey Laffan and Georgie Barnes.
