Students across the region celebrated Book Week last week, with the theme ‘reading is magic’.

Rochester’s St Joseph’s Primary School got into the spirit at its parade on Monday, August 19, with book characters stepping off the pages and into the classrooms.

Principal Liz Trewick as "the magic of reading" and Susan Kerlin as a wizard.

Year 6 student Mila Cottam as a crayon and Year 1 student Hunter Whitehead as Wombat from *Wombat Stew*.

Year 3 students Ellie Riordan and Ella Mundie as Macca the alpaca from *Alpaca with Maracas*.

Admin team Bree Cox and Maria Whitehead as Whitney and Britney from *Chicken Divas*.
